Lorraine Stangness began publishing patterns in 1989 under the name of Country Creations. Since that time she has self-published 18 books and over 100 patterns. Designing is Lorraine's passion and it has evolved into a multi faceted business which included her pattern and book line, a fabric shop, international teaching and lecturing, an annual outdoor quilt show and classes in her shop.

Country Creations is a shop based on Lorraine and Gordon's farm south of Strathmore, AB Canada in the heart of the prairies. Lorraine and her husband Gordon see to the day to day operations of the company, while a part time staff is available to help with orders, kits and bookkeeping. Because of Lorraine and Gordon's hectic schedule, the shop is visited by appointment only or pre-booking for quilt guild shop hops. When Lorraine is home, the shop is open.
